About Matt

Matt Perault is a senior fellow at the Center on Technology Policy at New York University and the head of AI policy at Andreessen Horowitz. He also currently serves as a board member of the North Carolina Institute of Technology Policy, a contributing editor at Lawfare, a fellow at the Abundance Institute, and a fellow at the National Security Institute at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. Previously, he served as the director of the Center on Technology Policy at UNC-Chapel Hill, a professor of the practice at UNC’s School of Information and Library Science, and a consultant on technology policy issues at Open Water Strategies. Earlier, Matt worked as a director of public policy at Facebook, where he led the company’s global public policy planning efforts on issues such as competition, law enforcement, and human rights. Matt holds a law degree from Harvard Law School, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University.
